Introduction

This is āyah 26 of Sūrat Al-Ghaashiya (The Overwhelming), the 68th sūrah in the traditional order of revelation. It was revealed in the Meccan period and sits within Juzʾ 30. Meccan verses tend to address faith, the oneness of God, and the hereafter.

Do they not look at the camels, how they are created (17)And at the heaven, how it is raised (18)And at the mountains, how they are rooted (19)And at the earth, how it is outspread (20)So remind them – you are only one who reminds (21)You are not a Musaytir over them (22)Save the one who turns away and disbelieves (23)Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment (24)Verily, to Us will be their return (25)Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning (26) The Exhortation to look at the Creation of the Camel, the Heaven, the Mountains and the Earth Allah commands His servants to look at His creations that prove His power and greatness.
